Arrest after man stabbed following argument

An arrest has been made after a disagreement between two people socialising in Nottingham ended in a stabbing, said police.

Officers were called to Lower Eldon Street in Sneinton at 05:00 BST on Saturday where a man had suffered a stomach injury.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody.

The injured 37-year-old was taken to hospital. A cordon remains in place in Lower Eldon Street.

Det Insp Ian Smith said: "Both the victim and the suspect are known to each other.

"We are not looking for anybody else in connection with this incident and strongly believe that there is no risk to the wider public."
