Guernsey's bus services are being run by the "right operator", the president of the Envrionment and Infrastructure has said.

In an update to the States, Adrian Gabriel said services have "not been good enough" and he was meeting with Stagecoach's managing director.

He said that the meeting went "very well" and he expects to "see improvements from next week".

He added: "What I want to see is the contract being met, I want to see buses turning up where they should be, when they should be in a clean and efficient manner.

"I've had reassurances from the managing director of Stagecoach.

"I've just come from that meeting today that they are going to be in place and they've made some structural changes to reflect that."
