Three arrests after woman, 18, dies following crash
GoogleThree people have been arrested after an 18-year-old woman died following a crash, police have said.
Thames Valley Police said the crash involving a white Mercedes and a white Volkswagen Polo happened on Bloxham Road, close to the junction of Springfield Avenue in Banbury, Oxfordshire, at about 21:20 BST on Saturday.
The driver of the Volkswagen Polo was taken to hospital where she later died. Her family was being supported by specially trained offices, said the force.
The three arrested people were all from Banbury, it confirmed, and asked anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified, causing death by dangerous driving, and driving while over the specified drug and alcohol limits.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop when required.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing death by dangerous driving.
All remain in police custody at this time.
Det Sgt Lyndsey Blackaby said: "We are working hard to establish exactly what happened and would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or has relevant footage, to come forward as a matter of urgency.
"A number of people were at the scene and if you have not yet spoken to us, do please get in touch."
Any drivers who were in the area at the time are being asked to review their dashcam footage.
The road was closed overnight and reopened at about 10:00.
