Northern Lights illuminate North West skies
BBC Weather Watchers/DanthemanResidents across the north-west of England have seen skies illuminated by the Northern Lights.
The pink and green hues were on display on Saturday evening.
The natural phenomenon, known as the Aurora Borealis, is the result of increased solar activity.
The Met Office has said sightings could continue to be possible during clear skies across the UK until Tuesday.
