Northern Lights dazzle North East and Cumbria skies
BBC Weather Watchers/WrightsaycheeseNorthern Lights illuminated the skies above the north east of England and Cumbria, dazzling photographers and stargazers.
The pink and green hues were on display on Saturday evening.
Known as the Aurora Borealis, the bright colours are a result of solar eruptions sending particles towards the Earth and interacting with particles in the atmosphere.
The Met Office said more sightings could be possible until Tuesday.
