Driver dies after car hits lamp post

A man has died after the car he was driving car hit a lamp post in Leeds, West Yorkshire Police said.

The 74-year-old was travelling along South View Road, towards Harper Lane in Yeadon, in a black Land Rover Freelander, when the vehicle came off the road just after 17:00 BST near to the Yeadon Community Health Centre

He received emergency medical treatment but was pronounced dead a short while later, officers said.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident to come forward.
