Police are appealing for information after alcohol and cash were stolen in a break-in at Tesco's Inverness Ness-side store.

Three men broke into the supermarket at about 01:00 on Sunday before riding off on dark-coloured mountain bikes.

Det Sgt Laura MacKay asked anyone in the local area who saw anything suspicious to come forward and speak to officers.

She added: "I'd also ask that those who live locally with private CCTV or dashcam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation."

One of the men was wearing a grey beanie hat, black clothes, red gloves and a black backpack.

A second man was wearing a black jacket, a yellow top, black trousers, trainers and gloves, while the third was wearing a chequered baseball cap, khaki jacket, grey jogging bottoms, black trainers and a blue backpack.

A Tesco spokesperson said: "Our Inverness Ness-side Superstore is open and trading as usual following an incident yesterday morning.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused."

This is not the first time the supermarket on Dores Road has been targeted.

In 2024 the store was broken into on two separate occasions.
