Fire service tackles large blaze at shipyard
PacemakerFirefighters are tackling a large blaze involving about 4,500 tonnes of cars at a scrap metal recycling facility in Belfast's shipyard area.
Five fire appliances and a number of specialist units are at Clearway Disposals on East Twin Road.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said the blaze was reported shortly after 12:00 BST on Wednesday and would likely continue overnight.
Nearby residents and businesses have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed, while people have been asked to avoid the area.
PacemakerBelfast Harbour Police said it was working closely with NIFRS and staff at the facility.
"We would advise local residents and surrounding businesses to keep windows and doors closed, as a precautionary measure."

Belfast Harbour confirmed the Viking Sky cruise ship left Belfast three hours earlier than planned due to the fire.
It said the decision to leave early rested with the ship's captain and cruise operator.
