Arrest after toddler seriously hurt in e-bike crash

A teenager has been questioned after a two-year-old girl was struck by an electric bike, leaving her seriously injured.

The collision happened on Pathfields Road in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, at about 21:00 BST on Thursday.

Police said an 18-year-old man, from Clacton, was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and bailed until 10 November while inquiries continued.

The girl remains in hospital, and officers have asked for anyone with information or footage of the crash to get in touch.
