Watch: The man who built a Spitfire in his garage

In 1973, the late Peter Arnold - known as "Mr Spitfire" - was turning heads with his latest project being built in his suburban garage.

He called the production team at BBC One's Nationwide, because he wanted them to see his Vickers Supermarine Seafire.

Reporter Sue Lawley travelled to Redbourn in Hertfordshire to see the plane taking shape, after Arnold searched for spare parts from museums, stores and crash sites around the world.

Another of Arnold's projects, which had been stored in his garage in Buckinghamshire for more than two decades, recently sold at auction for more than £20,000.
