Woman treated in hospital after hit-and-run collision

A woman in her 50s has been treated in hospital for her injuries after she was was struck by a white Ford Transit van that also collided with another vehicle nearby, in a hit-and-run road traffic collision.

Police said the incident happened at about 18:30 BST on Saturday in the Queens Quay area of Londonderry.

They added that the woman's injuries are "not believed to be serious at this time".

Police later received a report at about 22:10 BST on Saturday that a van had been found burnt out in the Sheriff's Road area of Derry. They believe this vehicle "was involved in the earlier hit-and-run collision".

Police have appealed for anyone with information, dash-cam or mobile phone footage that could assist with their investigation, to contact them.
