Maintenance, including phased road closures, is set to begin on a busy dual carriageway.

Work on the A3049 Dorset Way in Poole, between Holes Bay roundabout and Mannings Heath roundabout, will take place between 5 and 21 September.

Road closures will be in place on 5 and 6 September between 07:00 BST and 19:00 for surface dressing, with overnight sweeping works taking place from 7 to 10 September.

Further lane closures will be in place on 12 and 13 September for sealing works, with night-time closures from 15 to 21 September for line painting.

Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council said the £500,000 scheme would "help protect the road surface, prevent potholes and extend the life of one of Poole's busiest routes".

A temporary 20mph speed limit will be in place until the road markings are reinstated.

Work has been planned to minimise disruption, the council says.
