Driver denies causing man's careless driving death

A man has denied causing the death of a pedestrian and seriously injuring another by careless driving in Doncaster.

Sheffield Crown Court heard Oleh Mykhailenko, 77, and Natalia Mykhailenko, 71, were hit by a Vauxhall Corsa being driven by Jake Rowlands in Mill Street, Armthorpe, on 8 January.

Oleh Mykhailenko was taken to hospital where he later died, while Natalia Mykhailenko suffered serious injuries.

During the hearing, Rowlands, 20, of Brook Way, Doncaster, was told he would stand trial in June next year before being released on unconditional bail.
