Man denies two offences after air gun shooting

A man is due to stand trial accused of a firearms offence and grievous bodily harm after a woman was shot with an air gun in South Yorkshire.

Officers were called to reports of a person with a firearm on Windsor Street in Thurnscoe at 21:50 BST on 1 September and found a woman with serious injuries.

At Sheffield Crown Court earlier, Brandon Champion, 28, of Windsor Street, pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was remanded in custody, with a trial due to take place in March.
