A man who raped two teenage girls has been sentenced to 17 years in jail.

Kieren Chadwick-Tattersall, 34, from Sittingbourne in Kent, targeted the girls, who were both aged 15 at the time, between June and September 2024, according to Kent Police.

Police said he talked to the girls separately on social media and took them to secluded locations in his car where he would rape them and force them to engage in sexual activity.

He pleaded guilty to charges including rape, sexual activity with a child and sexual communication with a child at Maidstone Crown Court on 9 July and was sentenced on Monday.

Det Con Joseph Parrish said: "The victims' courage and bravery has helped to ensure he is locked up and cannot harm any other children."

Chadwick-Tattersall was arrested in Nottingham in November 2024 for a separate incident. Part of that investigation led officers to analyse his mobile phone, where his offences in Kent were discovered and led to his arrest, police said.

He groomed each girl with money and gifts and threatened to contact the parents of one of them if she stopped meeting him, police said.

Parrish said the girls were subjected to a "horrific timeline of abuse".

"I hope that this result can help them move forward and put this chapter of their life behind them," he added.

Chadwick-Tattersall is set to serve a further four years on licence upon release and has been handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
