Stories to make you smile from across Yorkshire
Sam Joesbury/Ashley Grey/BBCEvery week in Yorkshire, we cover uplifting and feel-good stories across our region - and we like to shout about them.
This week, we're featuring a gig-going artist drawing in the midst of a mosh pit, an exhibition celebrating David Hockney, and a man's mission to give back to the NHS.
Artist draws in midst of mosh pit
Sam JoesburyMost people cannot even hold a drink when they are among the crowd at the front of a gig - but for Yorkshire artist Sam Joesbury, being thrown around in the mosh pit is where he creates his best work.
The 22-year-old, from York, started drawing at concerts last year, and what started as a hobby has led to him sketching at several gigs a week, sharing his work on social media and gaining thousands of fans online.
"It was all a bit of a joke and a laugh until I realised no one else is doing this and it is actually really fun," he said.
"Some of the favourite bands I've drawn live include Basht, who I am on tour with now, but also Turnstile live at the Piece Hall, Fontaines D.C. at Leeds Festival and Kneecap, who were just crazy."
Man gives back to NHS after transplant
Ashley GrayA man has become a patient transport worker because he wants to give back to the NHS after undergoing a life-saving stem cell transplant.
Ashley Gray, from Hillsborough, Sheffield, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, a rare type of blood cancer, on New Year's Day 2023.
After his transplant in May that year, he recovered well enough to return to work and jumped at the opportunity to join the NHS.
"I had so much gratitude and that's when I decided I wanted to do something more worthwhile with my life," the 60-year-old said.
Hockney curates new art show in home city

A new exhibition celebrating the work of David Hockney in his home city had input from the globally renowned artist prior to his death, its curator said.
Hockney, who died in June aged 88, was involved in approving the inclusion of new works in the reopened David Hockney Gallery at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery.
Curator Jill Iredale said there was now an "additional poignancy" to the show, which is free to enter and runs until 21 October 2029.
Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council's executive member for neighbourhoods and communities, added the exhibition "gives visitors a special opportunity to see where the story of one of Britain's greatest artists began".
Band set for 'emotional' hometown show
Lorne Thomson/RedfernsIndie rockers The Cribs have announced their biggest ever hometown concert.
The Wakefield trio are set to headline an outdoor gig as part of Live at Tileyard North in August 2027.
They have not played in Wakefield since 2014, when they headlined the Long Division Festival.
Made up of twin brothers Gary and Ryan Jarman and younger brother Ross Jarman, the band will mark 20 years since the release of breakthrough album Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever at the show.
Gary, bassist and vocalist, said: "This event is near where our old studio, Springtime, used to be located - so it will be an emotional return."
Trains back on track for first time since 50s
Phil RobsonPart of a railway line in East Yorkshire has been brought back into use for the first time since the 1950s.
Volunteers at the Yorkshire Wolds Railway, which is based in the village of Fimber, near Driffield, have opened a new stretch of the line along the original trackbed of the Malton and Driffield Junction Railway, which closed to passengers in 1950.
A ceremony to formally launch the extension was held last week, after enthusiasts spent years raising funds to invest in the project.
Ivan Merino, infrastructure director, said: "It's very exciting to be able to launch this section of track. Our members have worked in all weathers to get the extension finished and have done a great job."
