Two men have cycled 170 miles (273km) to raise money for Andy's Man Club and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Glen Hartley and his friend, Jon Fish, both from Hull, pedalled between three ice arenas across Yorkshire over three days, raising almost £2,500.

Hartley decided to tackle the challenge after his father, Paul, was diagnosed with a form of MND in September 2025.

When he began to struggle on the ride he said he drew inspiration from the two charities' wristbands that he was wearing.

"Every now and again I looked down at the handlebars," he said.

"And if I'm feeling it I just see them [the wristbands] and I think that's the reason why I'm doing it for those charities."

The pair set off from the Hull Ice Arena on Friday and headed to Sheffield before cycling to Leeds, where they were guests of honour at Leeds Knights.

"I thought it would be a lot worse than it was," Hartley told BBC Radio Humberside Breakfast Show.

He said the hills around Ossett in West Yorkshire were the hardest part of the journey.

Before the pair set off they met Sir Kevin Sinfield, who was in Hull as part of his seven ultramarathons challenge, which raised money for MND.

They ran four laps of the city's Costello athletic stadium track with the former rugby league star.
