Farming and music festival to move to showground

A new farming and music festival will move to a Berkshire showground for its second event next year.

The Great British Farm-Fest, held for the first time this year, will take place at Newbury Showground from 29 to 31 May 2027.

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who will front the event, said it combined a traditional country fair with a modern music festival.

Taking place in May at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, the inaugural event featured more than 400 stalls and 12 arenas across 300 acres, and attracted more than 50,000 visitors.

It included performances from Blur and 10cc, celebrity guests and hundreds of animals.

Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland and Clarkson's partner Lisa Hogan, from series Clarkson's Farm, filmed at Chadlington in Oxfordshire, also appeared at the debut.

Festival director Chris Hughes previously said the event would not just focus on famous names, but shine a spotlight on "ordinary farmers".

Some traders at last year's event said they left early after failing to recover their costs.

Organisers said they were surprised a "handful of exhibitors" had left out of the 400 who took part.

Brands linked to Clarkson, including his Diddly Squat Farm Shop and the Hawkstone beer brand, are among those associated with the festival.
