Dangerous driver jailed for killing teenager

A dangerous driver who killed a 19-year-old in a crash has been jailed for four years.

Audi driver Jayden Cammock, 21, of Westminster Avenue in Walney, Cumbria, crashed into a Volkswagen on the A5087 Coast Road, near Priors Lea in Rampside, in June last year.

Police said he had overtaken several vehicles when he hit the Volkswagen, which had been turning right into a parking area, killing that car's passenger, Timothy Jolley from Ulverston.

At Preston Crown Court, Cammock pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and was handed a seven-year driving ban as well as the prison term.

The driver of the Volkswagen was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and a passenger in Cammock's vehicle suffered minor injuries.
