Eight fire crews attended the scene of a flat fire in Derby.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of the fire in Osmaston Road, Normanton, shortly after 13:40 BST on Thursday.

The service said eight crews from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, along with an aerial ladder platform, were at the scene.

Derbyshire Police said Osmaston Road had been closed between Bradshaw Way and Litchurch Street but had since reopened.

The fire service said crews tackled the blaze from outside the property due to a collapsed chimney stack, and a building surveyor was due at the scene.
