People on Isle of Man have been warned to brace for severe gales of up to 70mph with a risk or injury and damage to property as Storm Boelo reaches it height.

Two amber weather warnings has been issued by the island's Met Office, including warnings of large waves crashing over coastal roads.

The storm is expected to be at its worst from early evening on Saturday until Sunday afternoon.

Ronaldsway Met Office said: "These strength winds bring a risk of damage, especially to trees, which currently remain in full leaf, as well as disruption to travel."

The severe gale warning will be in effect from 18:00 BST on Saturday until 15:00 on Sunday, with overtopping at its worst from 21:00 Saturday until 12:30 Sunday.

The storm is expected to bring with it a "deep area of low pressure" causing severe gales for "a prolonged period of time [that will] only slowly start to decrease during Sunday before a more significant decrease occurs overnight into Monday", the Met Office said.

Isle of Man Airport has warned passengers to expect delays and allow extra time.

There were also 10 ferry sailings at risk across Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, Storm Austen saw the government supply sandbags around the island for members of the public to take and protect their properties from flooding.
