Empty former city nightclub hit by blaze
Firefighters have worked through the night to deal with a fire at a former nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent.
They were called to the disused four-storey property on Trinity Street in Hanley at 19:10 BST on Thursday and sealed off the surrounding area.
The crews remained at the scene overnight to dampen down hot spots and to make sure the building was safe.
An investigation is under way into the cause of the fire at the building, which was once home to Groove Castle.
Police officers were also sent to the scene and no-one was hurt, Staffordshire Police said.
They asked for witnesses to come forward to help with their investigation.
