Notting Hill Carnival is marking its 60th anniversary, but how many of us really know why it began?
Anayah Richards explores her own family's connection to Carnival, from her great-grandmother arriving in Britain as part of the Windrush generation to the racism, resistance and community that helped shape the celebration we know today.
Along the way, she discovers the stories of the people who helped build Carnival into one of the biggest street celebrations in the world.
But as a new generation increasingly knows it simply as "Carni", is some of that history being lost?
