Armed police officers were sent to a school after reports of a threat involving a knife.

Officers were called to St Paul's Catholic School, Phoenix Drive, Milton Keynes, at about 11:00 BST, which went into a temporary lockdown.

"Because a knife was mentioned, armed response units attended and conducted a thorough search, including of two individuals, and nothing was found," said a Thames Valley Police spokesperson.

The armed officers were stood down by 11:50 and neighbourhood police conducted reassurance patrols until about 16:20, the spokesperson added.
