The family of a man who was killed when the car he was travelling in collided with a tractor trailer have paid tribute to their "one in a million" son.

Alfie Miller, 19, died in a crash near Selby on Monday on the A163 at Barlby, near the junction with Whitemoor Lane.

He was travelling in a blue Range Rover SVR when it collided with a trailer loaded with hay bales being towed by a Massey Ferguson tractor. He died at scene.

In a statement provided to North Yorkshire Police, his family described him as "the most kind, loving and ambitious young man you could have ever met".

They said: "Alfie was an extraordinary young man. He was an incredible businessman, with so much ambition, determination and drive that made him stand out from a very young age.

"But our Alfie was so much more than his achievements. He was our whole world, and our hearts are so broken.

"He was larger than life, and he always had a smile on his face. Our son was one in a million, and there will never be another like him."

A 19-year-old man who was also in the Range Rover remains in hospital, while a 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail.
