Officers have arrested three people as part of an investigation into the large-scale supply and distribution of illicit drugs

Blister packs were found in a baby's cot following a raid of two properties in Wolverhampton, as part of a probe into the large-scale supply and distribution of illicit drugs.

Officers stormed an address in Wednesfield on Wednesday and also seized 2,000 Class B tablets and a stolen motorcycle.

A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and child endangerment, West Midlands Police said.

"Particularly concerning was the discovery of suspected drug-related items in close proximity to a child," said Det Insp Rich McCorry of Greater Manchester Police, who assisted with the raid.

A teenager was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and theft of a motor vehicle.

Both suspects remain in custody, the force said.

McCorry added: "Organised criminality brings misery to our communities and exposes vulnerable people, including children, to significant harm."

Acting on another warrant, officers searched an address on Penn Road and seized about £1,000 in cash and around 50 Class C tablets.

A man in his 60s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs and remains in police custody.

"Our investigation remains ongoing and we continue to pursue those involved in the supply of illegal drugs. We are committed to disrupting organised crime groups and removing harmful substances from our streets, " the detective said.
