Roads closed as man throws objects from roof - police

Suffolk Police was called at 02:20 BST to reports of a man on top of a building on Carr Street.
The force said the man had been throwing slates from the roofs of buildings, including the former Woolworths, and was brought down safely just after 09:00.
Carr Street and part of Tackett Street have been shut. The ambulance service is also at the scene, police said.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said they had received a report of a man on the roof of a shop in Carr Street.
"The incident is ongoing and a cordon around the store has been established.
"Members of the public are being advised to avoid the immediate area," the force said.
The building, which used to house Woolworths, is now home to Ipswich Bazaar and Vernon Fox.
