A father says it will be "special" to have his daughter follow in his footsteps and go to the same university has him.

Peter Healey will complete his paramedic science apprenticeship at the University of Wolverhampton in April 2027.

Ahead of then, this September, his daughter, Chloe, will begin studying forensic science at the university.

"It will be quite special knowing that while I'm approaching the end of my degree, Chloe will be starting hers at the same university," Healey said.

He started his apprenticeship while working for West Midlands Ambulance Service, and will continue his career with them after he graduates.

Chloe's studies will focus on the examination and analysis of evidence and the application of scientific principles to criminal investigations and the justice system.

"University has become a really important part of my life over the last few years. It has been hard work, particularly alongside working for the ambulance service, but I'm proud of how far I've come," said Peter Healey.

"To see Chloe starting her own journey at the same university makes it even more special.

"I'm looking forward to finishing my degree in April 2027, but I'm equally looking forward to watching Chloe start her own journey."
