Subterranean £500k cannabis farm found by police
Gareth Fuller/PA WireA subterranean cannabis farm with an estimated £500,000 crop was discovered by police near a Warwickshire village on Thursday.
Warwickshire Police said it found an "inconspicuous" shipping container near Wolston with an entry hatch inside which led officers down into a large underground farm.
Five people who were on site were arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis.
Two men have been charged and three more bailed until November pending further inquiries.
Gjergivatal Pjeter, 33, of New Market Street, Birmingham, and Eldoh Sylaj, 31, of Upper Stone Street, Maidstone, have both been charged with being concerned in production of a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis.
The bailed trio, all from Coventry, are aged 42, 43 and 63.
