Man guilty after sharing suicide vest guide
Counter Terrorism Policing South EastA man accused of belonging to the Islamic State (IS) group has been found guilty of terrorism offences.
Abdullah Yousef created a Telegram group where he published terrorist material, including instructions on how to make suicide vests.
The 24-year-old, of Galapagos Grove, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, also sent a message saying, "By the way, I am a terrorist".
Yousef was found guilty of membership of a proscribed organisation following a two-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. He will be sentenced at a later date.
Counter-terrorism officers arrested Yousef at his home in December 2025 and seized his mobile phones.
Forensic examination revealed more than 7,000 photographs, 21,000 videos and 270 links were shared in his Telegram group.
The court heard the material included a video about bomb-making and an IS publication discussing the use of knives and vehicles in attacks.
Yousef also shared videos which appeared to encourage or glorify IS, the court heard.
Prosecutors said messages sent to another Telegram user included a link to a video on how to make explosive belts and vests.
Yousef was also found guilty of collecting information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism and six counts of dissemination of terrorist publications.
Det Ch Supt Oliver Wright, head of Counter Terrorism Policing South East, said Yousef "made vast quantities of terrorist material available to others, including details of how to make improvised explosive devices and a video glorifying the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers".
"Sharing this content can have the very harmful result of encouraging those vulnerable to radicalisation to adopt a similar extremist mindset and be motivated to engage in terrorist activity," he added.
