Murder arrest after man killed in group attack
Family handoutA man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man attacked by four people in Leeds.
Rahiem Jackson, 38, was attacked outside a property in Hedley Chase, in New Wortley, Leeds, on Saturday, by a group armed with weapons, West Yorkshire Police said. He died shortly afterwards.
Paying tribute, his family said he had a "beautiful heart and soul", adding: "His smile was so infectious, and he lit up the room with his presence."
The force said a 26-year-old man had been arrested overnight in London by the Met Police. He remains in custody.
Det Ch Insp Dan Bates said: "This arrest is significant development in the murder investigation of Rahiem Jackson.
"Officers are continuing to support the family.
"Extensive inquiries remain ongoing and we continue to appeal for information around the attack.
"We continue to ask anyone who may have seen people arrive or leave the scene on Hedley Chase on Saturday night to come forward."
The family said Rahiem - known as Reema - "would have gone above and beyond for anybody he cared for" and that "a very cowardly, cruel and senseless act of vicious violence" had resulted in his death.
"He wasn't just a brother he was a son, an uncle, a father, a partner, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, brother-in-law and friend, and he did not deserve to die the way he did," they added.
"We are heartbroken and in so much pain and have been left inconsolable as a family."
