College expands education courses with new centre
Hull CollegeHull College says it is expanding its higher education and degree courses with a new dedicated centre.
Higher Hull, a new facility situated on the college's city centre campus, has been designed to make study more accessible for people progressing from college, adults returning to learning and those seeking a change in career.
The expansion will span Levels 4 to 7, from higher national qualifications and foundation degrees to honours degrees and postgraduate study.
Debra Gray CBE, principal and chief executive of Hull College, said: "Talent is everywhere. Opportunity should be, too."
Hull CollegeCourses available will include full-time and part-time options, shorter courses and modular study so people can learn alongside work.
Subjects will include green energy, digital technologies, health and care, creative industries and manufacturing.
Smaller teaching groups will form part of the new courses, with support covering wellbeing and financial guidance and bursaries, which will be subject to eligibility.
Claire Heke, assistant principal of higher education and academic pathways, said: "For someone who has been out of education for years, even asking about a degree can feel like a big step.
"Our job is to help them find a route that works, challenge them academically and give them the support to succeed."
On Thursday, 19 November, prospective students can meet lecturers, explore the facilities and discuss study options at an open event from 17:30 to 19:30 GMT.
