A footballer who bragged on Instagram about his drug dealing has been given more time to disclose information about his finances.

Thierry Nevers, 24, who previously played for West Ham, Newport County and Bradford City, was jailed for three years last year after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Following the convictions, a Proceeds of Crime Act investigation (POCA) was ordered to work out how much money he made from criminal activity and to recover any available assets.

But during a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court, the court heard more information was needed from Nevers. His case has been adjourned until 26 October.

Nevers' accomplice Allan Barrass is serving a 10-year sentence after he admitted three drugs-related offences and one firearms offence.

The court heard the financial investigation into Barrass, of Main Street, Dorrington, Lincolnshire, had been concluded earlier this year.

During a hearing in August, the court heard Barrass had made an agreed benefit of £221,028 from his criminal activity and had realisable assets of just £13,746.

Police discovered Nevers, of Severn Way, Tilehurst, Reading, was making regular trips from South Lincolnshire to the Reading area.

Mobile phone searches found contact between Nevers and Barrass as well as evidence of Class A drug dealing.

Police said Barrass was arrested on 6 August last year and a cannabis grow was found in his garage.

Officers seized 40g (1.4oz) of cocaine, £5,860 in cash, and weapons including a lock knife, an extending baton and a baseball bat.

A sawn-off shotgun, loaded with two cartridges, was also found at his property.

Nevers was arrested on 13 August last year.

He was previously described by Lincolnshire Police as a "known Instagram content maker, bragging about drug dealing in his videos".

Nevers signed for West Ham's academy in 2021 but left three years later.

Recorder Nicholas Bacon KC told Nevers, who has now been released from custody, that his case had been adjourned until 26 October.
