Courteeners to headline the Ludlow Castle concerts
Getty ImagesIndie rock band Courteeners are the latest headlining act to be announced for a series of concerts in south Shropshire.
The Manchester-based five piece will be joined by The Coral and The Guest List as supporting acts on Friday 16 July 2027, as part of the annual Live at Ludlow Castle events.
Other headliners already announced for the concert series include McFly, Becky Hill and Paul Heaton.
The band is best known for their 2008 debut album St. Jude, which featured songs Not Nineteen Forever and What Took You So Long.
The album made history in 2023, becoming the album with the longest gap between release and topping the UK chart, at 14 years, 9 months and 7 days.
The band have been together for 20 years, and this year released a new best-of compilation album called God Bless The Band, which they will perform in Ludlow.
They are currently travelling around the country on a tour of the same name.
The greatest hits record features songs from each of their seven albums, which frontman and songwriter Liam Fray said made him reminisce.
The concerts in Ludlow began in 2023, with 50,000 people visiting this year over two weekends, to see the likes of Snow Patrol, Paul Weller, The Human League, Tom Grennan, The Streets, Rick Astley, Richard Ashcroft and Scissor Sisters.
Tickets for the Courteeners will go on sale for people in the local area on 4 November and a general sale on 6 November.
