Scarf longer than Eiffel Tower part of theatre show

The knitters behind a 400m long scarf

More than 20 people have come together over a year to knit an incredible 400-metre-long scarf (1312ft) for a local theatre production.

The colourful creation will feature in Betty and the Yeti at Lighthouse, Poole, where the Yeti character is covered in a multi-coloured scarf.

"We've only stopped because it's time we gave it to the show now - it was very fun" said knitter, Djennat Hadid. "Anyone can do knitting, we just want to help the community and tackle loneliness and get people to join and make friendships.

She was joined by knitters in her group, Crafty Ladies and residents from the care home she works at.
