Arsenal merchandise store damaged in raid

A night-time raid has taken place at Arsenal's merchandise store near the Premier League champions' Emirates Stadium.

Photographs taken on Friday show a door of the Highbury Store lying damaged on the ground, with another hanging off its hinges.

The Met Police said the shop on Drayton Park, north London, was targeted between 03:30 and 04:30 BST and inquiries were ongoing to establish what was stolen.

Detectives want to hear from any witnesses or anyone with relevant doorbell or dashcam footage.

A spokesperson from the force said: "The Met is investigating a theft at the Emirates Stadium shop, Drayton Park, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, 14 August.

"We understand the concern such incidents cause to retail workers and local communities.

"Although no arrests have been made at this stage, officers are working at pace to conduct forensic examinations and gather CCTV to identify and locate those responsible."
