Two people have been arrested after six people were found in the back of a lorry in Goole, police have said.

Humberside Police were called out to the vehicle on Anderson Road at about 18:00 BST on Tuesday following reports of people who were believed to have entered the country illegally.

A 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of helping an asylum seeker enter the UK. Both remained in custody as inquiries continued, the force said.

Six people were detained on suspicion of immigration offences, it added.
