Man arrested after woman in 70s dies in crash

A man has been arrested after a woman died in a crash near Tintwistle.

Derbyshire Police said they were called to Manchester Road, near Millbrook House, at about 14:30 BST on Wednesday after two cars were involved in a collision.

One driver, a woman in her 70s from Hyde in Greater Manchester, died at the scene.

The other motorist, a man in his 20s also from the Hyde area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
