Charge after woman stabbed at Conservative club

A man has been charged after a 24-year-old woman was stabbed with a knife at a Conservative club.

Wiltshire Police were called to Westbury Conservative Club, in Alfred Street, at 00:45 BST on Sunday after reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Jordan Bingham, 21, of no fixed address, has since been charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

Bingham was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Salisbury Crown Court on 16 September.

The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries which were not thought to be life threatening.
