Passengers face major disruption to train services
PAMajor disruption to multiple rail services across the country is expected throughout the day due to damage to overhead wires.
National Rail said trains have come to a halt due to issues with electric cables at Arlesey, Bedfordshire on the section of track between between Peterborough and Stevenage.
As result, lines are blocked and trains may be severely delayed or cancelled.
The incident will affect passengers travelling on services provided by Grand Central, Great Northern, Hull Trains, LNER, Lumo, and Thameslink, including those travelling as far afield as Edinburgh.
National RailNational Rail has posted details of all the services affected on its X feed along with details on alternative routes.
There are also details on how passengers can use their tickets on alternative services.
Doncaster is said to be "heavily congested", affecting other routes running through the station.
