A1 closed as police examine 'suspicious vehicle'

Part of the A1M in Cambridgeshire had to be closed in both directions with a cordon in place in the area while police dealt with a "suspicious vehicle".

Police said the vehicle was in the Glatton area - north of Sawtry - and specialist officers attended the scene.

A 400m cordon was put in place as a precaution but has since been lifted after "nothing of concern was identified", the force said.

Surrounding roads which were also shut, including the A1M in both directions between Brampton and Haddon, have now been reopened, Cambridgeshire Police said on X.
