Wolves themed garden shed pub wins top accolade

A Wolverhampton Wanderers themed shed has been crowned the 2026 Pub Shed of the Year.

Tina Hibbs' winning wooden sanctuary, named Bar Hibby's, started as a place to store her husband's "vast collection of wolves memorabilia" but soon became a family hub with a pub thrown in.

"It gets used every weekend," she said of the base in Rugeley, Staffordshire. "We always have big parties for the kids, we have an Easter egg hunt, and decorate it [at] Halloween. It's a big part of the family."

It is the second year in a row that a Wolves themed shed has won the accolade, with Glen Gandy from Willenhall winning last year.

Hibby's was built in 2018 by a friend of the family who was starting a new garden business, although the interior was finished by the family.

"Photos don't do it justice," Hibbs said. "Many people walk in and they are like 'oh, it's like a proper pub!"

The shed was crowned winner on Saturday night, landing a range of personalised items for the premises, including a special sign to display outside.

Other pubs shortlisted this year were The Mucky Pub in Wakefield and The Pampered Chicken in Emsworth.

Last year's winner Gandy, from Willenhall, spent about £20,000 kitting out his shed - called Cognitos.

Of this years winner, Gandy said: "The competition is a great thing to do, and when I saw the Wolves things I told them to enter.

"Next year there is going to be a slight twist in the competition, where all the six previous winners are going to be up against each other.

"The gloves have got to come off next year."
