Man charged with murder after stabbing
FamilyA man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in the Small Heath area of Birmingham.
Saeed Ismail, aged 46 from Birmingham, is accused of the murder of Abdillahi Farid Ali. He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court later.
West Midlands Police said they understood the killing, which took place at about 13:15 GMT on Wednesday in Whitmore Road at the junction of Coventry Road, had worried the community and extra officers would be in the area to provide reassurance.
Witnesses have been urged to call 101 and an online page has been set up where people can send relevant images and video. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers.
Det Insp Nick Barnes said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Ali's family at this awful time.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed this awful incident that has not yet spoken to us to please get in touch.
"This was an extremely traumatising incident to witness, and we want to ensure that people are aware of the support available to them."
