Three vehicles seized from illegal car meet
GoogleThree vehicles have been seized after police attended an illegal car cruising event in Telford.
Officers found about 80 vehicles at Stafford Park on Sunday evening and about 50 people gathered on foot, West Merica Police said.
The force added that it had received a number of reports from members of the public about cars allegedly racing across the town, which were believed to be linked to the meet on the industrial estate.
The vehicles were seized under section 59 of the Police Reform Act relating to anti-social driving as part of Operation Chicane, which aims to tackle illegal car meets linked to anti-social behaviour and dangerous driving across the town.
Sgt Kully Singh said the force understood the impact that this kind of activity could have on local communities.
He encouraged anyone with information about planned meets or dangerous driving to report it to the police so action can be taken.
