Man charged with murder after woman's death

A man has been charged with murder following the death of woman, police have said.

Luke Rigby, 38, of Newcomen Road, Dartmouth, Devon is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Saturday accused of the murder of 46-year-old Rebecca Grass.

Police and paramedics were called after reports of a serious disturbance at a property in Newcomen Road, Dartmouth, at about 21:20 BST on Tuesday, 6 October. Police said Grass died at the scene.

A 46-year-old man was also taken to hospital with facial injuries. Rigby has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in relation to the injured man, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Rigby was also charged with three further separate alleged offences of assault by beating, racially-aggravated public order offence and assault on an emergency worker.

Rigby currently remains in police custody.
