A man who was shot dead while families gathered at a memorial service in west London has been named by police.

Officers were called to the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street in East Acton at about 19:45 BST on 2 October after members of the public heard multiple shots.

Levi Davidson, 40, from west London, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.

The Metropolitan Police said more than 50 people were believed to have been in the area and appealed for witnesses, adding: "The Met knows there are people who witnessed important moments before, during or after the shooting who have not yet come forward."

Det Ch Insp Brian Howie, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Levi's family and friends, after he was killed in such an act of senseless violence.

"We understand a large number of people had gathered for a memorial service, and what should have been a time to come together in remembrance has instead left a family devastated.

"We believe there were more than 50 people in the area at the time and we are making a direct plea for anyone who was there to contact us."

The force also appealed for anyone with photographs, video, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage, or other information, to contact police "no matter how insignificant it may seem".
