A road has shut in Stoke-in-Trent after a lorry leaked around 400 litres of fuel onto the road.

Police were called to Longton on Saturday morning, where the spillage stretches on Anchor Road from Bambury Street to the Army Reserves Centre.

Staffordshire Police said it was working with the fire service and highways to clear the road surface - which is expected to take a "many" hours.

Drivers have been warned of delays and advised to avoid the area to reduce disruption to traffic.
