Bus routes and timetable changes are to be discussed in a meeting after the current arrangements caused "unnecessary problems".

Bus Users Guernsey said the meeting on Saturday, at St Martin's Community Centre at 15:00 BST, was open to members of the public, the bus operator, Environment & Infrastructure and deputies.

It said a month had passed since Guernsey's bus routes and timetable were changed and it had been three weeks since operator, Stagecoach, assured issues would be fixed by the end of September but "unnecessary problems remain and our members doubt when they will be resolved".

The meeting allows bus users to give feedback to representatives of Stagecoach and the States.

Bus Users Guernsey said it acknowledged some progress had been made in the last fortnight to "return to the high standards of service and communication earlier in the year".

It said: "We also accept that Stagecoach and States' Traffic & Highways department may have more solutions planned for the week ahead however things still have a way to go and are not improving fast enough.

"Public confidence has been damaged and needs repairing. We want to get user numbers rising again."

Peter Le Vassuer, part of the Guernsey buses committee, said: "We'd just like to invite anybody who's interested.

"We're trying to get more people on the buses which is the whole aim of it."
