Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of another man in his 40s.

Thames Valley Police said officers had found the victim dead in a block of flats called The Foyer in Slough, Berkshire, on 24 September.

The force said that after a post-mortem examination conducted on Tuesday, the death was now being treated as murder and the two suspects, aged 45 and 53, both from Slough, remained in custody.

It also said the victim's next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.

Det Ch Insp Stuart May expressed "sincere condolences" to the victim's loved ones.

"I would ask that their privacy is respected during this extremely difficult time," he said.

"I understand that incidents such as this will cause concern within the local community.

"We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish exactly what has happened, and there will continue to be an increased police presence in the area while our enquiries remain ongoing."

He urged anyone with relevant information to get in touch.
