Rape arrest after woman attacked on woodland path

A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a woman was attacked on a woodland path.

Dorset Police said the woman, aged in her 40s, reported being attacked in the Boscombe area of Bournemouth on Wednesday at about 21:00 BST.

Woodland Walk - a path that runs between the centre of Boscombe and the seafront - was cordoned off until Thursday afternoon.

Officers said the arrested man was aged in his 60s and from Bournemouth.

Det Insp Edmund Murray said: "We are continuing to support the victim and have updated her of the latest development."
